Martín Bestard
Mountain guide

My name is Martín Bestard and I invite you to personally explore my homeland with me.
As a Mallorcan, I developed a great passion and interest in nature from an early age.
I studied natural and landscape resources and have worked at Temple New Sam in the UK and the Cabrera Maritime-Terrestrial National Park in Mallorca, among other places. I have visited Loch Lomond National Park and the Trossachs National or Nature Parks in Scotland, Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland, Manu National Park in the Peruvian Amazon and Kruger National Park in South Africa.
My passion, however, is the Tramuntana Mountains and the various natural areas of Mallorca, which I have explored for years on my numerous excursions.
As a local, I have access to private trails and properties whose owners I am friends with. They allow me exclusive access. In return, a percentage of my fee is donated to the owners to preserve and maintain the environment of their historic properties.
I look forward to your booking and to taking you on a unique hike!

Ecotourism
Ecotourism is the journey to a natural area to get to know it, interpret it, enjoy it and travel through it while appreciating it and contributing in a practical way to its conservation, without generating impacts on the environment and having a positive impact on the local population.
At Martin's Walks we attach great importance to the definition of Ecotourism that was created at the 1st National Ecotourism Congress in which we had the honour of participating.
Our excursions are characterised by knowing, enjoying and interpreting each and every one of the natural areas that we visit.
Furthermore, on the routes that we have a deal with private property, we give them a part of the economic contribution with a single purpose, that the money raised goes directly to the conservation of the farm. And of course any product we offer is 100% local.
